One Week Later

Tip of the week: Buy your next wallet at the local luggage store.

No, not Bentley's. The local luggage store needs your business. And, they just happen to have wallets that kick the pants off the crap in the mall.

Don't be fooled if they have a small section. They don't need one hundred pieces of junk for you to shift through when they have twenty well designed, quality items to choose from.

And, the sales assistant was very helpful, actually. She didn't just cruise by asking "need any help?" and keep going by to the customer looking at the expensive luggage sets. Nope. I told her what I was looking for, and that I wanted to be economical, and ten minutes later I had the sweetest wallet I've ever had. Small and so practically designed that I keep taking it out to look at it again.

It's very simple, with good clean lines and nice stitching. It's about the size of a bifold business card case, but clearly made to be a wallet for people who've been using business card cases because they want a small wallet. All I want is something to hold some cash, ID, and a few cards. More than a money clip, less than a wallet. This is impossible to find in, say, Target. Their wallets are shit. My new wallet, however, is not shit. It is perfect.

And, not expensive. My last wallet (was too big and never folded properly) cost $10 at Target. This cost $20. Not bad.

And, the local business got business.

(Thanks, Rynn's Luggage, 1922 East Carson St, 412-481-8862.)

(And thanks to the fucking jackass who stole my bag last weekend. You did _not_ do me a favor. However, I like this wallet better than the old one. Even so, I still hope you get boils.)

Posts will continue to be intermittent. I'm stretched thin here. I'm not feeling under particular undue stress (may just be numb to it), but free time has gone down to nearly nil.

The great news is the trip back to DC later this week. Very excited.
