Lounge

Beach trip.

There is not one thing that sounds bad about that. Two days on Saint George Island, MD, with friends, food, and fun. Books, a frisbee, sunscreen, bathing suit (must actually purchase bathing suit... ), &etc.

Yes, there is not one thing that sounds bad about that.

To the Great

Let me just give a shout out to AP out in Iowa.

And yes, I've already told her she is great, strong, kick-ass, and that she makes the short list of close friends, so this is not a lame-o "I told you on my web page, didn't you read it?" post.

She Has the Nicest Smile

I have developed a fond relationship with Celeste.

She makes me dinner about twice a week and has a warm friendly smile.

I met her at Safeway, in the frozen pizza section.

I think she prefers me to call her "Mama Celeste," it fits her.

Mama Celeste is not so much a person as she is a picture on a frozen pizza box. "Celeste Pizza for One" is marketed directly to me.

Celeste Pizza for One says, "Here, honey, have this nice pizza. You can fix it faster than cheese toast and you get the lovely pizza sauce between the cheese and the bread part."

This is far better than the Safeway Select "Supremo Pizza," which although the same size as Celeste Pizza for One, says "You cheap slob. Not only are you eating frozen pizza again, it's the store brand." It makes little matter that Celeste Pizza for One is cheaper than the Safeway Select, I think of it as Celeste winking at me saying, "I'll give it to you for $2.70 this week."

And the TGI Friday's frozen anything just says "Suburban brainwashed" to me.

Yeah, Celeste takes care of me.

Cats Parked in Front of Fans

At the new apartment, the only utility I pay for is electricity (and phone, but somehow that doesn't count because you always pay for phone).

The building was built in 1917, and we all have window units for AC. For some irrational reason, I have decided to see how long I can go without turning the AC on.

Maybe it has something to do with me growing up in a house in Florida without AC.

Maybe I am cheap.

Or a masochist.

Time will tell.
